With military drama SEAL Team officially coming back for Season 5 and moving to Paramount+ early on in the season, the series will be able to have a little more legroom when it comes to storylines, thanks to the streaming platform. With the ability to now explore characters more deeply, David Boreanaz, who portrays Chief Master Jason Hayes, revealed what he’s most excited to explore with Jason in the upcoming season.

The Bravo Team had gone through a lot these last few years, especially this previous season. Since the series is now coming back for Season 5, we will likely continue to see their struggles and exploring each character even more. David Boreanaz spoke to TV Insider about what he’s most excited to see for Jason moving forward, especially when it comes to his personal and professional life:

" I’m looking forward to [seeing] where he stands, especially with his children on top of where he is as a leader, becoming that true Jedi that is almost wiser and better emotionally and physically, and being able to use that as a sounding board to listen to his team members and his brothers, [with] what adversities they may be going through and how he can relate to that. "

The Season 4 finale previewed what lies ahead for Jason and what troubles he could be facing in Season 5. Considering how long Jason has been with the Bravo Team and everything he’s been through recently, the team leader has been experiencing some “headaches” that may be something bigger and more concerning. Jason hasn’t been with Bravo too much recently due to what he’s been going through, so it will be interesting to see how his storyline continues in Season 5.

After the cast and fans campaigned for the CBS drama to get a fifth season, the network announced that the first four episodes of the upcoming season will be airing on CBS in the fall, before moving to sister streaming platform Paramount+, joining fellow CBS series Evil and Clarice. Boreanaz recently spoke out about the move, saying that they have more of an advantage on the streamer due to having less restrictions. Being a military show, there are many storylines to tell with a different perceptive. There's honestly only so much to do on network television, and moving to Paramount+ gives the cast and crew the opportunity to really dig into the characters' storylines.

There's no telling exactly what is next for Jason and the Bravo Team in the upcoming season but, with the move to Paramount+, there will surely be heavier storylines, as the series has always tried to tell authentic stories about the brave men and women fighting for the country. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

All four seasons of SEAL Team are streaming on Paramount+. Season 5 premieres this fall and will air Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on CBS before moving to the streaming service.
