Up With the Birds (Spring Update)

We would be remiss not starting this update with a mention of the global pandemic that continues to affect us all. During these challenging times, we encourage you to do your part to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Each of your governments has published actions that every one of us should take to slow the spread of this virus and "flatten the curve". Please, do your part by practicing social distancing. Use this unprecedented time to discover nice music on RED and spend time with the others in your home, enjoying each other and the music.

Staff Updates

To start, there have been some new additions to the staff team. Please welcome F**** and G****, who have been working behind the scenes alongside the rest of staff to handle your reports and other staffing needs. Unfortunately, we also have to say goodbye to M***, who's been staffing since the very early days of the site. We appreciate their contributions to our site more than any words can express.

Gift Tokens

For those that have not used their gift tokens, this is a reminder that gift tokens will expire on April 15, 2020 at 23:59 UTC, which is just a few days away. Use them up; that is what they're there for.

API Keys

In recent months, we've been beta testing a new feature on RED, which we are excited to activate for everyone today. As of right now, you should see an area for API keys in your profile under Access Settings.

You are allowed up to three keys per account, with individual scoping allowed. Treat your API key like a password. We treat it as as a password. If you ever lose one of your API keys, there is nothing that RED staff can do to retrieve it. If you delete an API key, its site access will be revoked and any applications using the key will no longer work.

In addition to adding API keys, our awesome devs have also been hard at work creating documentation for the RED API that describes how to use our API. You should notice that there are a couple more endpoints available than the stock gazelle configuration.

Our team will monitor the bug forum, so if you notice any issues, please open a bug report and we will investigate. Happy downloading!
