Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid are reportedly 'clashing' over their wedding plans.

The former Friends actress only began dating the Snow Patrol rocker last year but he got down on one knee in June amid his girlfriend's birthday celebrations. It's been rumoured the pair legally married earlier this month after being spotted wearing wedding bands, but Courteney and her beau are said to be struggling to agree on the ceremony details.

'Courteney and Johnny are still in the planning stages of the wedding but are clashing over where to have the celebration. 

Johnny said he wanted a big Irish 'do' surrounded by his friends and family, but Courteney admitted she didn't feel comfortable having so many guests she'd never met,' a source told British magazine Closer. 'Courteney's told pals she'd prefer a smaller ceremony near her home in Malibu with just close friends and family. She's also told Johnny, if they wed there, they'll have much nicer weather.'

Another perk of the actress' choice is said to be the fact they wouldn't need a licensed venue in America if they're legally married, and she is allegedly keen to tie the knot by the end of the year.

There is one guest in particular Courteney reportedly wants at her nuptials. She split from ex-husband David Arquette in 2010, who she has daughter Coco with, but the former couple have remained on friendly terms.

'Courteney and David have maintained a good relationship since their split, so naturally she was hurt when he admitted [in August that] he was unlikely to attend the big day,' the source added. 'She's invited him and his fiancee [Christina McLarty] as she thinks it's important for them to all be together for Coco's sake.'
