Iggy's marriage denial

Iggy Azalea has denied ever being married.

The 24-year-old Australian rapper took to Twitter on Friday to clear up her relationship status. Iggy's clarification was prompted by her ex-boyfriend Hefe Wine, real name Maurice Williams, filing divorce documents in Texas alleging that he and Iggy had a common law marriage.

'I think we already all know, but just to clarify. I'm NOT married,' Iggy tweeted. 'Feel free to check the PUBLIC marriage records. Gotta laugh tho, now do you see the kinda craziness I deal with?! #ThisLifeWeLive (sic).'

Hefe claimed in the documents filed that he and Iggy had "agreed to be married, holding themselves out as man and wife and began residing together in the State of Texas on or about September, 2008,' according to TMZ.

Texan law states that if a couple live together for a certain amount of time and consider themselves husband and wife then they are technically in a common law marriage.

Hefe claims that the pair only stopped living together last year. In the documents, Hefe has asked the judge to prevent Iggy from selling any assets she obtained during their 'marriage'.

If the judge agrees that the pair were in a common law marriage, all of Iggy's music and the money she made from it during their relationship will be split down the middle, the outlet reports.

However, a representative for the singer has insisted Iggy never considered herself to be Hefe's wife, and his divorce filing is simply an attempt to get money from her.

The court papers are just the latest in the bitter battle between Iggy and Hefe that started when they split.

Following their break-up, Hefe claimed he owned the rights to music Iggy recorded during their relationship.
