Join CNET for live coverage of HTC's event Tuesday morning, where the company is expected to take the wraps off a Windows Phone version of the One M8.

HTC is gearing up for a big device announcement at an event in New York on Tuesday, August 19.

So far HTC has been been mum about the details of the event. But rumors have swirled that the announcement will be a Windows Phone version of the company's aluminum flagship smartphone the HTC One M8.

CNET's crack team of reporters, photographers, and reviewers, including myself, Reviews How-To Editor Dan Graziano, Photographer Sarah Tew, and CNET TV Producer Ariel Nunez, will be on hand to deliver the latest details. The live blog for the event will kick off at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT. And the event itself is expected to begin at 10:15 a.m. ET/7:15 a.m. PT . You can follow the live blog here:

Specifics about the device have been reported over the past couple of weeks by various blogs in dribs and drabs. The consensus is that the the new device will have a similar look and feel, as well as spec sheet, to the Android version of the HTC One M8. The rumor mill also suggests Verizon Wireless will be the first US carrier to offer the device, which will eventually be made available to other US and international carriers.

If the rumors are true, this would be HTC's first Windows Phone since the HTC 8X and 8S were announced in September of 2012.
