The owner of futbolhd.tv has been fined PLN160,000 (€37,100) and handed a 10 month sentence, suspended for three years, for pirating sports content from the Polish DTH platform nc+.

In a statement, nc + says that the verdict, which cannot be appealed, is the result of a court case that was brought against the owner last year.

It found that the owner of futbolhd.tv acted against the interests of ITI Neovision, the operator of nc+, by showing football matches that ITI Neovision holds the rights to.

Furthermore, it charged viewers for watching this content illegally on its site.

Broadband TV News notes that futbolhd.tv can no longer be accessed.
