Walking Dead S8 Brings All-Out War

A brand new banner promoting The Walking Dead‘s upcoming eighth season features Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the rest of the survivors gearing up for an all-out war against Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). AMC’s hit post-apocalyptic series is returning to the airwaves with brand new episodes next month and fans are already buzzing with anticipation for what is to come for the Alexandrians after a rather traumatizing season 7.

Different from last year’s premiere , fans are more looking forward to the return of The Walking Dead especially with how things were left off in the finale . Daryl (Norman Reedus) has finally reunited with his crew, Rick has finally found the will and strength to stand-up to the Saviors after a season of bowing down and everyone is finally starting to gather together to reclaim their rights and thwart Negan from his unofficial throne. We all know that it would not be a happy ending for everyone, but everybody is determined to do their respective jobs to ensure victory.

The new promotional banner has arrived courtesy of AMC featuring the survivors ready to bring Negan and the Saviors an all-out war. Members of the Hilltop and Kingdom communities join the Alexandrians, who obviously are front and center in the photo. And for those who are still skeptical about the upcoming installment of the juggernaut series given last year’s up and down pacing, the official synopsis might just convince you that Rick and his team is not playing around with regard to trying to reclaim their freedom. Part of The Walking Dead‘s season 8 storyline reads:

“Up until now, survival has been the focus of Rick and our group, but it’s not enough. They have to fight to take back their freedom so that they can live. So that they can rebuild. As with any battle, there will be losses. Casualties. But with Rick leading the Alexandrian forces, Maggie leading the Hilltop, and King Ezekiel leading the Kingdom — Negan and the Saviors’ grip on this world may finally be coming to an end.”

The “All Out War” catchphrase has been the main promotional tagline for the eighth season of The Walking Dead and it could not be more straightforward than that. Judging by the trailers, the trio of communities banding together makes for a very innovative and tactical bunch, even Carol is causing some ruckus by blowing things up . Negan’s Saviors need to have more than just an extensive weaponry, they also have to strategize and level with their adversaries if they want to retain the power that they currently hold.

Admittedly, it has been a bummer of a season for The Walking Dead‘s seventh year as our heroes suffered setback after setback. Many fans were turned off by the seemingly slow turn of events, as well as filler episodes that took the story out of the main characters, so it is only logical that folks behind the show would position the upcoming season as an action-packed, fast-paced installment. Further, we were also promised time and again that all the less exciting set-up will eventually have a huge pay-off and from the looks of it, AMC is keen on delivering especially as the series opens up their newest outing with their 100th-episode milestone .
