How countries fight against piracy with various antipiracy solutions

The High Authority Hadopi has just published its international watch report presenting the various antipiracy solutions. Sweeping around the world, it targets 18 countries, highlighting the " originality, exemplarity and efficiency " of the models. These are both approaches to Internet users and actors of commercial counterfeiting.

The first observation made by Hadopi is that the P2P solutions are decreasing due to the evolution of uses, but also pedagogical devices or indemnities. Mas the right owners remain in search of an optimum solution, with regard to the costs observed of the current devices. The public policies deployed try to juggle between effective awareness and a fair sanction against Internet users.

The other point, obvious, is the deployment of illegal streaming - which comes first and foremost in the audiovisual world. With this difficulty that offenders are often based abroad: identifying and apprehending, in this case, is a challenge. Several countries have also switched to a site drainage approach. This is the system that was set up by Fleur Pellerin : cut the financial resources stemming from advertising, for the sites. The National Publishing Union was also involved in this project. 

In the field of publishing, the Japanese model for the fight against the piracy of mangas: the Manga-anime guardians anti-piracy project is an initiative specific to the territory. A website which " aims to strengthen the protection of manga, a highly consumed and locally consumed cultural product for the rights holders, also includes a website listing the mangas legally available on the Internet ".

As such, the country has set up a model especially against uploading files. 

Similarly, in the Netherlands, BREIN , Bescherming Rechten Entertainment Industrie Nederland, has recently been active in the protection of works of the mind. It is notably through Facebook that the organization intervenes, having announced - a derisory figure - the closure of 14 Facebook groups dedicated to sharing ebooks. 

This intervention " has led operators to conclude a transaction for an amount of 7,500 euros and to commitments under duress to cease infringing copyright, " notes the Hadopi.
