Samsung Galaxy On5 (2016) Passes Through the FCC

Samsung is currently working on other smartphones, aside from its Galaxy Note 7, set to unveil on August 2 during the Unpacked 2016 event in New York City. Samsung is also preparing to release the a modified variant of the Galaxy On5, which has just recently passed through the FCC, according to SamMobile.

The Galaxy On5 (2016) was recently spotted at the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which means that it could be launched sooner than later. The smartphone was recently spotted on Zauba and on Geekbench, where some specs of the device were revealed.

The data from Zauba shows that Samsung imported several units of the SM-G5700 into India for testing and evaluation. The Galaxy On5 has the model number SM-G550, which makes it very likely that the SM-G570 is the Galaxy On5 (2016).

The Galaxy On5 (2016) will most likely come with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1, as well as 2GB of RAM and it sports an Exynos 7570 chipset. It could also run a 1.4GHz quad-core CPU and it might also come with a 5-inch screen.

The Galaxy On5 (2016) should be more powerful than the previous model

Galaxy On5 (2016) will most likely be more advanced than its predecessor, the Galaxy On5, released last year. The smartphone had a 5-inch display with 720p resolution and 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor with 1.5GB of RAM.

In addition, it came with just 8GB of internal storage and the option to expand memory to up to 128GB with the help of a microSD card. The smartphone also came with an 8MP rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording. It had 5MP on the front camera and ran Android Lollipop 5.1.

Galaxy On5 (2015) was unveiled together with the Galaxy On7 (2015) and it is believed that upgraded versions of the two smartphones would also be released together.
