  1. The first teaser trailer for AMY launched today. From BAFTA award-winning director Asif Kapadia (Senna), AMY tells the incredible story of six-time Grammy-winner Amy Winehouse - in her own words. Featuring extensive unseen archive footage and previously unheard tracks, this strikingly modern, moving and vital film shines a light on the world we live in, in a way that very few can. A once-in-a-generation talent and a pure jazz artist in the most authentic sense, Amy wrote and sung from the heart using her musical gifts to analyse her own problems. The combination of her raw honesty and supreme talent resulted in some of the most original and adored songs of the modern era. Her huge success, however, resulted in relentless and invasive media attention which coupled with Amy's troubled relationships and precarious lifestyle saw her life tragically begin to unravel. Amy Winehouse died from alcohol poisoning in July 2011 at the age of 27. Directed by Asif Kapadia (Senna, The Warrior) and produced by James Gay-Rees (Senna, Exit Through The Gift Shop) through On The Corner Films, AMY is released in the UK by Altitude Film Distribution. AMY is in UK cinemas July 3, 2015. Running Time: 123mins @AmyFilmUK #AmyFilm
  2. There's no doubt that Game of Thrones is the most pirated TV-show in history, with copyright holders doing all they can to remove infringing copies from the web. However, these efforts can also go too far, something just witnessed by Australian pay TV company Foxtel. Last year Australian pay TV company Foxtel signed a deal with HBO to become the exclusive provider for Game of Thrones. This means that the popular TV-show will not be available online through other channels such as iTunes, a decision that may increase local piracy rates. Foxtel, for their part, sees the move as an important strategy to gain more subscribers. Looking forward to the fifth season of Game of Thrones, which starts this April, the company put up a teaser last Friday. “We hope you’re hanging onto the edge of your iron throne, because Game of Thrones is back…,†writes Foxtel in an airing schedule announcement. The article on Foxtel’s official site also includes a copy of the trailer for the fifth season. However, those who try to play the embedded YouTube video are in for a disappointment. “This video contains content from Home Box Office (Singapore) Pte Ltd, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds,†YouTube notes. GoT Trailer Blocked The Game of Thrones trailer Foxtel links to is claimed by HBO Singapore, which means that it can only be viewed in the Asian country and not in Australia, America, the UK or elsewhere. The video in question was likely flagged by accident as it makes little sense to put geographical restrictions on global trailers, which have the sole purpose to promote the show. HBO’s actions are not only a problem for Foxtel and the tvpromosdb channel they linked to, but also for the dozens of other YouTube users that had the trailers taken down. While some appreciate the irony of a blocked trailer on Foxtel’s website, it’s mostly sad to see yet another example of the mess that copyright holders make in YouTube’s Content-ID system.
  3. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Multiplayer Revealed "Tactical Team Operations." The first footage and details of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's online multiplayer, called Metal Gear Online, was revealed during The Game Awards. The trailer opened with the player character instantly swapping between character skins, finally landing on the Big Boss himself. It quickly transitioned to dozens of player-controlled characters storming a base and using various tactics such as stealth takedowns, toy dogs that acted as distractions, and using the Fulton system to send enemies high into the sky. Click here to see the trailer. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - Trailer The action-packed trailer ended with a cute moment of Snake himself taking a selfie with Revolver Ocelot, who happened to be in a choke-hold. This version of Metal Gear Online has the subtitle “Tactical Team Operations.â€
  4. If there's one thing Old Man Empire taught us, it's never to meddle with a sociopathic whale. And he was gnarly seafarer with kippers for hands and a pipe permanently clenched between the two remaining gnashers he hadn't had prised from his face by a kraken off the Cape of Good Hope. Sadly the crew of The Essex, a similarly salty bunch, never met the kipper-fingered seafarer or had the chance to heed his sage advice. This new trailer for Ron Howard's In The Heart Of The Sealays bare the terrible consequences. Adapted from Nathaniel Philbrick’s Moby Dick origin story of the same name, Howard’s sea movie relays the misadventures of a whaling expedition led by Captain George Pollard, Jr. (Benjamin Walker) and first mate Owen Chase (Chris Hemsworth) after it comes out second best in an encounter with an angry sperm whale mid-ocean. Being adrift in small boats in the Pacific is something of a cinematic trend at the moment –Unbroken and Kon-Tiki also capture that “oh shit†moment when the wind drops and you’re suddenly 4000 miles from land with only a flying fish to gnaw on – but this one takes us to new and terrifying places. The South American landmass is still some distance when the food starts to run out... Howard’s strong cast also boasts Michelle Fairley, Charlotte Riley, Jordi Molla, Tom Holland, Sam Keeley and Cillian Murphy among those who either set sail or must deal with the aftermath. In The Heart Of The Sea drops anchor on March 13.
  5. Kevin Hart's 2014 brought us the not inconsiderable roster of Ride Along, Grudge Match, About Last Night, Think Like A Man Too and Top Five. And while his 2015 isn't looking quite so crowded, it will at the very least unveil Ride Along 2, The Wedding Ringer and Get Hard. To prepare you, the latest trailer for the latter has just arrived online. Be warned: you will see Will Ferrell naked.] Cursory inspection of Get Hard suggests similarities to the woeful Rob Schneider vehicle Big Stan(con undertakes a toughening-up programme prior to a stint in jail) and to that unfortunate recent series of films that use the trope of middle class white people getting black people to teach them to be criminals (Horrible Bosses, Tower Heist). Thankfully, however, Get Hard reveals, even in its trailer, that there's more going on here. The premise is Ferrell's own mistaken assumptions about Hart's character, who has never committed a crime or set foot in a prison in his life. Etan Cohen, the writer of Idiocracy, Tropic Thunder and Men In Black 3, penned Get Hard's screenplay and has also made it his directorial debut. He's currently deep in post-production, and we'll see the results of his labours in the UK on March 27.
  6. We saw the first trailer a couple of months ago. Now here's a trio of new Focus posters and a brand new trailer (see below) to answer all your run-up-to-Christmas Will Smith and Margot Robbie needs. The caper sees Smith playing a con artist getting romantically involved with Robbie's novice grifter, only for the partnership to sour. Flash-forward in time, and our hero is setting up an elaborate heist in Buenos Aires when the owner of an international racing team (300's Rodrigo Santoro) hires him to help gain an edge over the competition. But when Robbie shows up again, both men compete for her affections and the love triangle’s sharp edges start to cut… Crazy, Stupid, Love directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa wrote the script and are once again behind the cameras, this time in New Orleans and Buenos Aires. Focus is scheduled for release on February 27.
  7. Though it was initially thought that American Sniper might generate some fresh awards chatter around Bradley Cooper, who threw himself into the central role, so far the film, about US Navy SEAL shooter Chris Kyle has largely picked up only a couple of gongs – and those either for the film or director Clint Eastwood. Still, the reviews from the US have been mostly positive. The latest trailer is online. Jason Hall adapted Navy SEAL Kyle’s book, subtitled The Autobiography Of The Most Lethal Sniper In US Military History. That recorded Kyle’s career as a Texas-born shooter who notched the highest number of recorded kills for an American. But his dedication to his sights and his SEAL mates has an impact on his relationship with his wife (Sienna Miller), especially when he returns home to the States suffering what is eventually diagnosed as post-traumatic stress disorder. And, as the story explores, it impacted some of his fellow vets even more profoundly... American Sniper will be out here on January 16.
  8. Electronic Arts on Monday released a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming shooter Battlefield Hardline, which launches in March 2015 for consoles and PC. The 90-second trailer highlights some of the missions you'll take on, as well as the options you have for clearing objectives, including guns blazing approaches as well as non-lethal takedowns. We also get a look at some of the driving sequences, which come together to make Battlefield Hardline "the fastest Battlefield ever," according to the video released today. Battlefield Hardline, which was originally expected to launch in October before being pushed to 2015, is now scheduled to arrive March 17 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.
  9. The folks at YouTube channel Powerlight-13 have remade the epic Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens trailer inside of Rockstar Games' open-world action game Grand Theft Auto V. Obviously it's somewhat rough--after all, GTA V is a bit limited in its Star Wars props. But it's a fun watch all the same, and speaks to the enduring passion of the GTA V playerbase. The Force Awakens hits theaters in December 2015, while GTA V fans have GTA Online Heists, and maybe some single-player DLC, to look forward to in 2015. Thanks, Polygon.
  10. This looks amazing. 2015 will be a big year for Mad Max fans. In addition to the new game from Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios, a new movie, Mad Max: Fury Road, hits theaters next summer. Warner Bros. released a new trailer for the film today, and it does not disappoint, delivering two-and-a-half minutes of insanity. There's automotive mayhem, explosions, hand-to-hand combat, and some bizarre-looking bad guys. It's definitely worth a look, even if you're unfamiliar with the long-running action movie series. Fury Road arrives May 15, 2015 starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, and Nicholas Hoult. George Miller, who directed the original Mad Max movies, is also directing Fury Road.
  11. Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man and Chris Evans as Captain America in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Marvel has released an "extended" trailer for its upcoming blockbuster, Avengers: Age of Ultron. The new trailer has many more voice overs of Ultron, as well as familiar scenes of our favorite superheroes in mortal peril. Ultron says: "You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change..There's only one path to peace — your extinction." As opposed to the first trailer, this one is shown from the villain's point of view. We hear Ultron say some ominous things, and then we see him use an Iron Man suit to attack the Avengers. In the previous teaser, we saw the Avengers joking around and trying to lift Thor's hammer. While they are having a good time, they're interrupted by Ultron. This part of the scene seems to be continued in the latest teaser. "How could you be worthy? You're all puppets ... tangled in strings," Ultron says in this trailer before it cuts away to him crushing the skull of someone in an Iron Man suit. We also hear Robert Downey Jr's character say: "It is the end. This is the end of the path I started us on." Here are all the teasers and trailers released by Marvel.
  12. Driving a race car in the rain is scary. Developer Slightly Mad Studios and publisher Bandai Namco have released a new Halloween trailer forProject Cars, which shows off the racing game's nighttime and severe weather conditions. Project Cars trailers always look impressive, but this latest video, which is made up entirely of gameplay footage, is one of the best looking ones yet. With the appropriately spooky darkness, headlights, and rain-slick roads, you can really get a good idea of how impressive the lighting in the game is. Slightly Mad Studios says that this exemplifies its approach to development, which is not to just put things in the game because they look pretty, but because they impact gameplay as well. Racing at night and under severe weather conditions, especially in a tight pack of cars, it says, will provide an extra challenge. Project Cars is coming to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Slightly Mad Studios recently confirmed that it pushed the game's release date to March 20, 2015 in order to avoid the busy holiday season, when bigger, more established franchises will release their new games and potentially steal the spotlight. 14. Video takes viewers on a "visual tour" of the Kyrat's midland and Himalayan regions. Ubisoft today released the latest "Welcome to Kyrat" trailer for its upcoming open-world game, Far Cry 4. The impressively produced trailer takes viewers on a "visual tour" of Kyrat's midland and Himalayan regions. Also on display is the game's deep forests that play host to the Arena blood sport competitions, and are are replete with wild animals, drug traders, and more. Shifting to the Himalayan setting, the Far Cry 4 trailer seeks to hammer home the point that every moment spent here is a "near-death experience." This is due to hungry wolves and tigers out to kill you, avalanches waiting to bury you, and enemy soldiers hunting you down. Far Cry 4 launches November 18 for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. Ubisoft said recently that it's targeting 1080p visuals for the Xbox One and PS4 versions. 15. Nintendo releases amusing new video showing how Amiibo toys work with upcoming fighting game. Nintendo has released a new trailer for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U that highlights its support for thephysical Amiibo toys, which launch alongside the fighting game in November. Just how the video goes about doing that is the funny/awkward part. This is a story about love, or what one young man thinks is love. We won't spoil the video for you, but be sure to watch through the end. This video follows an information blowout last night about Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. During a special Nintendo Direct video presentation, Nintendo highlighted 50 new features for this year's game. These included a stage creator, eight-player support, Mewtwo DLC, and lots more. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U launches November 21 in North America and December 5 in Europe. The game has big shoes to fill, as the latest installment in the series--Super Smash Bros. 17. Video showcases key characters in Ridley Scott's upcoming digital TV series. Microsoft has published a behind-the-scenes video for Alien director Ridley Scott's upcoming Halo: Nightfall digital series. The video introduces you to some of Nightfall's characters--including protagonist Agent Locke--and also highlights the overall narrative. Nightfall stars Mike Colter (Million Dollar Baby) as Agent Locke, while Christina Chong (Star Wars: Episode VII) will also play a role in the film. Scott is the executive producer of Nightfall, which is directed byBattlestar Galactica's Sergio Mimica-Gezzan. Everyone who buys November's Xbox One game Halo: The Master Chief Collection will get access to Nightfall, though Microsoft has not yet announced plans to offer the series to everyone else. Locke, described as a "legendary manhunter," is the focus of Nightfall. The series will provide his backstory, which fans may want to pay attention to, considering Locke is also going to be a major character in 2015'sHalo 5: Guardians. "A strange and treacherous world exposes elite UNSC operatives to a much deeper danger," Microsoft writes about Nightfall. Though Locke is a primary character in Halo 5, series protagonist Master Chief is also at the heart of the story, Microsoft confirmed recently after it was suggested that the company was looking to retire Chief and replace him with Locke for future games. In addition to Nightfall, Microsoft has tapped prolific film director Steven Spielberg to make a Halo TV series. This was announced back in May 2013, but we still don't know much about it. 18. "What you're seeing here is advance warfare," as Kevin Spacey says. "What you're seeing here is advance warfare," actor Kevin Spacey's character Jonathan Irons tells the camera as a drone zooms by in this latest trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Indeed it is. The game is still more than two weeks away from release, but this new "Gameplay Launch Trailer" gives us a good look at the single player campaign, with a few glimpses at some of the explosive set pieces the series is known for. In the game, players step into an advanced exoskeleton as Jack Mitchell, a soldier in a special unit working for Atlas, the Private Military Corporation led Spacey's character, Jonathan Irons. It's the first Call of Duty game developed on Activision's new, three-year cycle for the juggernaut franchise. In announcing the new schedule earlier this year, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said this move will allow developers to have extra time to not only create new features to help push the brand forward, but also so they can spend more time polishing each game. Advanced Warfare launches November 4 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. Preorders for the game, however, unlock on November 3 through the Day Zero Edition. 19. [uPDATE] Epic Games confirms it's not involved with the game, but says the developer used the Unreal Engine 4 logo without permission. [uPDATE 3] GOG has released a statement on Hatred. Read it here. [uPDATE 2] Epic Games, the owner of video game development engine Unreal Engine 4, issued a statement today to GameSpot on Hatred's use of the technology. "Epic Games isn't involved in this project. Unreal Engine 4 is available to the general public for use 'for any lawful purpose,' and we explicitly don't exert any sort of creative control or censorship over projects. However, the video is using the trademarked Unreal Engine 4 logo without permission from Epic, and we've asked for the removal of our logo from all marketing associated with this product." [uPDATE 1] A representative for Destructive Creations has responded to GameSpot's request for comment regarding Hatred. The studio confirmed that it does indeed plan to release the game, and would like to launch on Steam or GOG, if they allow it. "Yes, we really plan to release this game publicly and for PC only," the studio said. "We're too small [a] team to develop it on any other platform at the moment. We really wish to release [a] digital version through Steam and GoG, but actually we have no idea if they will let us to do this, because of all the sh**storm the game is delivering. We really would like to find a publisher for retail version also, but it might be hard for the same reason." The original story is below. Polish developer Destructive Creations has released the first gameplay trailer for Hatred, an isometric shooter where you play a cold-blooded killer on a mass-shooting spree. The above trailer is beyond brutal, showing the antagonist (the character you play) moving through the outskirts of New York State, killing all manner of people--including law enforcement--seemingly at random and with excessive force. The game runs on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4. You'll gather equipment from your fallen enemies to "spread Armageddon" across society. Destructive Creations warns, "Just don't try this at home and don't take it too seriously, it's just a game. :)" Why would you want to play a game like Hatred? Destructive Creations has an answer for that, too. "These days, when a lot of games are heading to be polite, colorful, politically correct, and trying to be some kind of higher art, rather than just an entertainment--we wanted to create something against trends," the studio said. Hatred aims to be "something different," and a game that gives players "pure, gaming pleasure," Destructive Creations said. The game "takes no prisoners and makes no excuses," the studio explains, adding that it doesn't plan to shy away from the fact that this is a game about killing people. We have reached out to Destructive Creations, asking for more details about Hatred, such as if they actually plan to release the game, what platforms we can expect it on, and if they will release the game on their own or through a distributor like Steam or GOG. The release of Hatred's gameplay trailer today has inspired much discussion on Twitter. We've rounded up some tweets about the game, and you can see them below. What do you think about Hatred? Let us know in the comments below. Add Rep and Leave a feedback Reputation is the green button in the down right corner on my post
  20. Take a tour of one of the regions you'll explore in Far Cry 4. Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Far Cry 4, the first in a series that introduces you to the open-world game's new setting: Kyrat. Part one of the series focuses on the lowlands, a "massive" region between the rolling hills and wetland marshes made up of a web of mountain roads spreading across the planes. The big bad guy in charge of this area is Paul Depleur, a drug runner and the leader of the royal army belonging to Far Cry 4's main villain, Pagan Min. If you've played the previous Far Cry games and especially Far Cry 3, you'll know that the landscape and the animals that inhabit it are one of the game's defining features. Far Cry 3 was set in an Asian-Pacific archipelago called the Rook Islands, and Far Cry 4's Kyrat seems largely inspired by Nepal. Far Cry 4 launches November 18 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. In Europe, Sony and Ubisoft have teamed up to offer PS3 and PS4 Far Cry 4 hardware bundles. 21. The very first trailer has arrived for Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland, starring Britt Robertson as a sparky teen thrown into the mysterious realm that gives the film its title. The new trailer shows Robertson encountering the futuristic domain for the very first time, as she touches a strange totem that appears to transport her from one world to the next. This first teaser does a good job of establishing the basic premise while keeping the finer details under wraps, and will almost certainly leave you wanting more. Much more… Take a look at the new trailer, below… Not a huge amount to go on then, but more than enough to suggest that Robertson is a bona fide star in the making, and that Tomorrowland itself is going to be a lot of fun to explore… Directed by Bird and co-starring Hugh Laurie, Tim McGraw and Kathryn Hahn, Tomorrowland will open in the UK on 22 May 2015. 22. Check out a new trailer for upcoming RPG from the creator of Mafia. Warhorse Studios has released a new trailer for Kingdom Come: Deliverance, its upcoming non-fantasy role-playing game in development for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The peaceful, two-minute trailer shows off the open-world game's medieval Europe setting, highlighting some of the environments you'll explore and activities you'll partake in. The Lord of the Rings-esque music you hear is from Jan Valta. A pre-alpha version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance will be available for backers (who pledge $35 or more)starting on October 22. The game's Kickstarter campaign raised more than $1.8 million earlier this year, and Warhorse Studios has continued the crowdfunding campaign through its website. Leading development on Kingdom Come: Deliverance is Warhorse Studios co-founder Daniel Vavra, who is credited with creating the Mafia video game franchise. The game, which aims to launch in 2015, promises to blend elements of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Witcher, and Red Dead Redemption. The trailer is set to A Tribe Called Quest's "Scenario," which is one of the songs on the game's Pharrell Williams-curated soundtrack. In addition, 2K Sports says NBA 2K15 features more than 6,000 new animations. How many can you count in the trailer above? NBA 2K15 launches October 7 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. 24. One of the more interesting horror franchises to appear in the last few years, theV/H/S series essentially collects a series of short, found-footage films by up-and-coming young directors. Mixing the work of relative unknowns with a few better-known ringers such as Ti West (The House of the Devil) and Gareth Evans (The Raid 2), the two V/H/S anthologies have proven uneven but intermittently compelling spook-shows. Just as the first two entries in the V/H/S series made their bones largely on the video-on-demand and streaming market, V/H/S Viral will debut via on-demand service such as iTunes on October 23rd, 2014. A new, red-band trailer for the third movie gives audiences a peek at its multiple, gore-filled stories. Showing off more footage of the actual movie (as opposed to the first trailer’s recap of the first two V/H/S entries), the restricted audience trailer confirms thatV/H/S Viral won’t shy away from the kind of extreme material that has defined the franchise. Not only do we get glimpses of slithering creatures, stabbings, shambling undead, and sudden dismemberment, this newest preview also gives us a much better idea of what the individual segments of the anthology will look like. Of particular note is a story involving a stage magician who may just wield the powers he pretends to use on stage, deploying them to deadly effect during a police raid. Also possibly worth a closer look: a vignette shot like a first-person shooter video game and some particularly gruesome body horror. So far, the potential of the V/H/S series has outstripped its actual quality. Individual segments of each movie tend to either be quite strong (Gareth Evans’ entry in V/H/S 2, for instance) or intensely frustrating – though this may simply be a problem endemic to all anthology films. Nonetheless, we at Screen Rant are curious to see ifV/H/S Viral is the first installment of the franchise to stay strong all the way through.
