  4. Get an Xbox One without Kinect for $50 off starting November 9, according to leaked adscan. If you're in the market for an Xbox One and can hold out for a few weeks, you may want to consider this new deal from Kmart. According to an adscan for a sale beginning the week of November 9, Kmart will offer Kinect-free Xbox One bundles for $350, a markdown of $50 from the normal $400 price point. The adscan above comes from Twitter user thebiglouie. If true, it would represent one of the best deals to date for an Xbox One, not to mention making the Xbox One $50 less expensive than the rival PlayStation 4. There is no mention of a markdown for the $500 Xbox One bundle that comes with Kinect. It is unclear if this deal is limited to Kmart or if it is a wider price drop that will be available at retailers nationwide. We'll report back with more details as they become available. The deal, if genuine, is timed with the release of marquee Xbox One title, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which goes on sale on November 11. This isn't the only rumored Xbox One deal. Adscans from Target and Wal-Mart show that the $500 Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare 1 TB console will be offered for $450 beginning in November. 5. Viewers will also get to see developer interviews about Master Chief Collection and watch the first episode of Halo: Nightfall. Microsoft announced today that it will hold a special "HaloFest" live-stream event the night before Halo: The Master Chief Collection's release on November 11 for Xbox One. Viewers will get to see developer interviews, the first footage of the Halo 5: Guardians gameplay, and the debut episode of Halo: Nightfall. You can tune in through Twitch, Xbox Live, and HaloFest will take place at the Avalon Theatre in Los Angeles on November 10, one day before The Master Chief Collection launches worldwide. The event begins at 8 PM Pacific. Here's what's on tap for the HaloFest live-stream: First look at Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta -- This will include an exhibition match between professional players, giving fans a first look at how the game plays. The game's beta begins December 29, though you'll need to buy The Master Chief Collection to get in World premiere of Halo: Nightfall -- Viewers will get to watch the first episode in Alien director Ridley Scott's series, which introduces Agent Locke, a central character in Halo 5. You can watch a new trailer for the series above. Interviews -- 343 Industries developers such as Bonnie Ross (studio manager), Frank O'Connor (franchise development director), Dan Ayoub (executive producer), and Josh Holmes (executive producer) will be featured during the event. In addition, 343 executive producer Kiki Wolfkill will talk about Nightfall during the stream, which will also feature "celebrity Halo fans." Outside of the HaloFest stream, Microsoft will hold a Halo tournament on November 8-9. 32 players from around the world will compete for $50,000 in prizes in Halo 2: Anniversary's multiplayer mode. This will take place at the ESL's headquarters in California, and all coverage will be streamed live through the Halo Twitch channel. Highlights will be shown during HaloFest. 6. "Pioneering something new is never easy. When we see the raw numbers, it’s easy for us to say that the destination was worth the journey." It has been a full month since Bungie and Activision launched Destiny, and while it has received its fair share of criticism during that time, the data proves that people are still playing it. A lot. In a post to Bungie's official website, Community Manager David "DeeJ" Dague revealed that Destiny averages 3.2 million players every day. As Bungie revealed last month, these players' play sessions are still three hours long on average, even on weekdays. The average Destiny player also logs into the the game 1.8 times a day, and has played Destiny 20.9 times in total. To put things into perspective, Bungie says over the past three weeks it has had more players online in Destiny that it did during the same span for Halo 3 and Halo: Reach combined. However, keep in mind that Halo 3 and Halo: Reach had single player campaigns that could be played offline. In Destiny, you have to be online, even if you're playing through the story alone. "Your reactions and your opinions have helped us to make Destiny better over this past month," Dague said. "Pioneering something new is never easy. When we see the raw numbers, it’s easy for us to say that the destination was worth the journey." Add Rep and Leave a feedback Reputation is the green button in the down right corner on my post
  7. A month after being acquired by Microsoft, Minecraft is coming to Windows Phone. Minecraft: Pocket Edition is headed to Microsoft's Windows Phone device, the game's lead developer at Mojang Jens Bergensten has announced. "Yes, Minecraft: Pocket Edition *is* coming to the Windows Phone!" he said. "The port runs already, but there's still much to do before any release." The day before Microsoft confirmed it was acquiring Minecraft for $2.5 billion, we reported that Nomura analyst Rick Sherlund said that the deal was meant to support Microsoft's mobile business. "We don’t view this acquisition as a signal of Microsoft's intent to double down on Xbox but consider it an attempt to better address mobile on a cross-platform basis," He said. "This also appears to be consistent with (Microsoft) CEO Satya Nadella’s mobile and cloud strategy." Minecraft: Pocket Edition, the mobile version of the game available through the iTunes App Store and Google Play, is indeed tremendously popular. In April, Bergensten revealed that Pocket Edition sold over 21 million copies. Minecraft's PlayStation Vita Edition was also just released despite the Microsoft acquisition. The game should be available at US retailers as of yesterday for $20, and will release in Europe on October 14. 9. The Moto 360. We’ve heard about how awesome of a smartwatch it’s going to be when it arrives, and we’ve even seen pictures of the fabled smartwatch that Moto 360 fans are becoming restless about. Motorola, it’s time to hand over that smartwatch. The longer you wait, the lower the sales. Apple blogger John Gruber decided to poke some fun at the Moto 360 recently with a comment about the watch: “It looks like Motorola’s designers tried to draw as much attention as they could to the 360’s stupid flat-tire display shape. The only way this could get funnier would be if it doesn’t even ship until after Apple announces their wrist wearable thing next month.†There are a few things we can take away from Gruber’s comment. First, Gruber notes that Apple has a “wrist wearable thing,†though he doesn’t say it’s a smartwatch. What could this mean? It could mean that Apple’s wrist wearable may be similar to a fitness band or bracelet than an actual watch. Though, we’ve heard much about the 1.6-inch and 1.8-inch OLED displays that Apple looks to place into the new iDevice. With that said, Apple could be after producing more of a Samsung Gear Fit competitor than anything else. We simply don’t know the answer at this point, but Gruber’s comment is interesting. He could simply mean that we don’t know exactly what Apple’s doing because we’ve not seen one photo of the fabled iWatch. And, keep in mind, too that he doesn’t call it the “iWatch.†We don’t know how the name caught on in the tech press, but Apple’s never said anything remotely resembling the fabled name that’s become the common name associated with it. We think that, should Apple name it “iWatch,†the company should give kudos to the person who first came up with the name that’s spread like wildfire for the last two years or so. Next, Gruber points to “next month†as the date of the iDevice unveiling, but this is nothing new; we expect Apple to announce its iDevices next month, and we couldn’t imagine Apple waiting until October to reveal the iWatch along with its iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3. Since the iWatch will pair via Bluetooth with the iPhone 6, September looks to be the ideal time to announce the iWatch. While providing these little juicy tidbits of detail, Gruber also makes fun of Motorola’s Moto 360 smartwatch. If we’re honest, we’d have to agree with Gruber. Much hype has been published across the Web regarding the Moto 360: “it’s gorgeous,†they say, “it’s the best Android Wear smartwatch out there,†others have said. Well, that’s not exactly the case. It turns out that we, like Gruber, believe that the “flat-tire display shape†is nothing more than a rounded smartwatch, and some will like the design while others won’t. Some of us here at Inferse prize Samsung’s Gear smartwatches, and happen to prefer a square smartwatch over a rounded one. We don’t all like the idea of having a smartwatch resemble the nerdy calculator smartwatches that became such a big deal in the ‘90s. Some of us believe that a contemporary watch deserves a contemporary design. Some will appreciate what Motorola brings to the game, but the Moto 360’s been hyped so much that Motorola should really be ashamed that it’s waited so long to bring the smartwatch to the market. After all, competitors Samsung (Gear Live) and LG (G Watch) will more than gobble up whatever sales Motorola could’ve gained, had the company prized a quick release a little better. “They’re waiting to get it, right,†many have said – but how long does it take to get a smartwatch right? How many months of hype will customers tolerate before, tired in their wait, they decide to settle on something that, in many ways, may actually be better than the Moto 360 they’ve been waiting for? At this point, Motorola’s drained whatever surprise its smartwatch could’ve made in the market. Releasing the Moto 360 now is far too late to the game, considering that the iWatch and iPhone 6, as well as the Gear 3 and the Galaxy Note 4, will all arrive next month. And finally, Android Wear is in its infancy. Sure, it may have about 25-30 apps available for use, but why would any user want to rely on Google Now to type its text messages accurately when Google could’ve provided an in-built, on-screen keyboard to do the job? Android Wear may be a powerful platform in days to come, but it’s got a long way to go before it gains the respect it wants. With that said, we happen to believe that Gruber’s laugh at the Moto 360 packs more of a punch than the actual Moto 360 will – if and when it finally arrives. In the meantime, keep in mind that Apple will announce the iPhone 6 and the new iWrist wearable on September 9th, with a release of the devices to occur around September 19th.
