  1. Sam Smith would have "cried and crawled off stage" if he'd done a Madonna. The US superstar made fans wince in empathy when she took a nasty tumble at the 2015 Brit Awards last month, when a dancer accidentally pulled her backwards down some stairs during her performance. The Queen of Pop quickly got over the fall, dusting herself off and carrying on singing Living For Love. However, fellow performer Sam says he wouldn't have been so graceful. "I used to fall up the escalator on the tube all the time. I'd do what every guy does and look back as if there's something wrong with the ground. I like to think if I'd been like Madonna and fallen at the Brits I'd have powered through, but chances are I'd have cried and crawled off stage," he laughed to British magazine Stylist. The Brits proved to be a big night for Sam too, with the singer picking up British breakthrough act and the global success gong. He celebrated the wins with pal Ed Sheeran, who scooped best male and best album, with photos of the pair looking bleary eyed making the papers. "[i got over my Brits hangover] by eating cheese!" he smiled. "The Brits was amazing but I feel like I've celebrated enough now. Since the Grammys I've had a couple of weeks flapping about not actually writing any music, it's time to get back into work mode." Sam recently rerecorded his track Lay Me Down with John Legend to raise money for charity Comic Relief. His busy schedule has unfortunately left the 22-year-old feeling under the weather though, and earlier this week he had to pull out of his Milan gigs after being struck down with laryngitis. "Milan I'm back in June and I will sing the hardest I've ever sung. That's a promise x (sic)," he told his 2.2million Twitter followers.
  2. Tony Bennett will serenade Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney at their upcoming nuptials. The singer could not be happier that the pair are set to marry, so much so that he was honoured to accept his friend's request to sing on their special day. The 88-year-old crooner told Page Six that Gaga asked him personally to perform at their wedding, which he previewed will be a 'fabulous' affair. 'They invited me to do it and, of course, I will,' Tony told the publication of his official singing duties, adding of the extravaganza, 'All I know is, knowing Lady Gaga, it will be fabulous.' The pop star, 28, and Chicago Fire star Taylor, 33, are rumoured to be tying the knot at her Malibu mansion later this year, though no official details have been released. Taylor popped the question over a romantic Valentine's Day meal last month, presenting his girlfriend of almost four years with a stunning heart-shaped Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring. 'He gave me his heart on Valentine's Day, and I said YES!' Gaga wrote alongside a photo of the sparkler, posted to Instagram, while Taylor posted a photo of the happy couple with the caption, 'she said YES on Valentine's Day.' The couple met in 2011 on the set of Gaga's You and I music video and have been going strong ever since. And Tony for one can't think of a more perfect love match for his Cheek to Cheek collaborator than the hunky actor. 'I love it. She's marrying a very wonderful man, very talented and very handsome. I think he's going be highly successful in films. He's a very nice person,' Tony gushed.
  3. Keira Knightley's husband has helped her 'regress'. The actress married musician James Righton in the South of France last year. But rather than being a sign they have now entered the adult world, tying the knot had a more light-hearted undertone for the couple. 'If anything, my husband and I have regressed,' she laughed to Refinery 29. 'We both come from backgrounds where none of our parents were like, 'You should get married.' Mine were hippies who only got married because it was the only way they could get a mortgage. When I got married they were completely like, 'I don't know why you bother. Fine, do whatever you want, but what does it mean? It doesn't mean anything.' And, we just sort of went, 'It'll be fun!' The 29-year-old next appears in Laggies, an indie comedy about a young woman suffering a 'quarter-life crisis'. Her co-star is 17-year-old Chloë Grace Moretz, who is having a serious movie moment, appearing in project such as If I Stay and The Equalizer. 'She's wicked. What's really lovely about her is that yes, she's a total old pro,' Keira gushed about her teen co-star. 'She's so confident, and she's so much fun, and she's so outgoing - but equally she's totally like a teenager, and that's what's really lovely. She's always giggly and jumping all over the place, which is nice, because you can work with kids who've been doing it for a long time and you think: 'You're behaving like me!' If you choose to work with young people, you should encourage them to behave like young people, and that's what I love about her.' 4. Taylor Swift is 'terrified' of sea urchins. The 24-year-old singer writes songs about being 'fearless' and is known for being one of the music industry's biggest power hitters. However, her bravery ceases when it comes to the prickly sea creatures. 'If you knew what sea urchins were you would be terrified!' she assured the giggling studio audience on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Her strange fear was also met with surprise by the host, who jokingly tried to argue the creatures were harmless. But Taylor insisted on explaining the validity of her terror. "They're like a grenade," declared the Shake It Off singer. "They're sitting there waiting to completely injure you." Despite being met by more laughter, the blonde beauty maintained a serious expression as she tried to convey her point. She reminded Ellen about the danger of getting an urchin's spine stuck in your skin after failing to spot it in time. "You can't see a sea urchin if you're in the Caribbean," Taylor complained. "You're like, 'This water is so beautiful and amazing,' and then you step on one and it has barbs and it goes into whatever it touches, and then you have to go into the emergency room and get it surgically removed. You could lose your foot, you could lose your hand, you could lose your hand trying to get it off your foot." And that's not all the songstress is afraid of. She also has a problem with the notion of being framed, and told Ellen she fears what would happen if she became the unwitting suspect in a crime and landed in jail. 'So many people would frame me," Taylor announced. "And they can frame you for any crime that you could go to jail for. Look at me, I wouldn't survive in jail.' Once her fears were addressed, the hitmaker took a moment to divulge The Voice coach Adam Levine's soft spot. Taylor is a mentor on the current season and has noticed that musical theatre songs make the Maroon 5 frontman go weak. 'It's to the point that if you sing songs from Rent you can actually render Adam Levine helpless on the floor," she shared. 5. Courtney Love thinks strippers "relate" to her because she "tips like a maniac". The 50-year-old singer worked as an exotic dancer before making it big with her band Hole so feels a certain affinity with the profession. Earlier this week Courtney and Dave Grohl caused raised eyebrows when they were overheard making a bet about strippers while at a book launch party. Dave was in Nirvana with Courtney's late-husband Kurt Cobain, with the pair falling out for years before making up as the grunge band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year. "I used to be [a stripper], and I tip like a maniac so they relate to me,' Courtney told New York Post. 'That's the whole premise. That's why we made the bet." The two stars have each wagered $10,000, with the bet over who can "get the most strippers". They were supposed to take each other on at New York City strip club Scores, but Courtney ended up going home early. "I'm taking him down!" Courtney laughed. "I had a few too many shots, but I would have kicked his ass. I can remember the pole. That was a long time ago.' Dave and his pals apparently had a great time at the club, with the Foo Fighters star apparently splashing out $10,000 on tequila, champagne and some private dances. He impressed with his good manners according to New York Post, although Courtney isn't ready to forget about their agreement just yet. "the bet is still on @davegrohl we'll do the wager out west and I swear I'll win! (sic)," she wrote on Twitter the day after the party. Dave isn't the only star Courtney has been bonding with lately. She also has a lot of time for Jennifer Hudson, who spent time with at the Turn It Up For Change Ball Benefiting LGBT Equality at the W Hotel in New York this week. "Jennifer Hudson your voice is amazing! As we all know @IAMJHUD #lovehasnolimit (sic)," she wrote on Twitter, alongside a picture of her and Jennifer posing together. 6. Ed Sheeran is ashamed of slamming Miley Cyrus at the Grammy Awards. The 23-year-old British star regrets comparing the US singer's dance moves to those of a 'stripper' at the annual music event. Looking back, he wishes he'd handled things differently. 'I was a bit of a ****,' Ed confessed to British newspaper The Sun. 'I do feel bad about it as I'd be f**king livid if someone said that about me.' The star tried to explain his behaviour, insisting the intention was positive. He blames his choice of phrasing for causing a feud between the pair. 'My general point was I wanted her to sing the songs so people could see what an amazing artist she is,' he insisted. 'I just worded it wrong.' Ed has since admitted that he had a few drinks at January's Grammy's before hitting the red carpet and talking freely. He took aim at Miley's raunchy dance moves in one of her music videos. 'It's a stripper's move. If I had a daughter of mine, I wouldn't want her twerking,' he complained at the time. 'When I first heard Wrecking Ball, I thought it was a brilliant song. But the video distracts too much from it.' In his new interview, Ed also claimed it's perfectly OK that his friend Taylor Swift sings emotional songs about her ex-boyfriend, One Direction star Harry Styles. He noted that she's the only person who seems to be called out for her message-driven tracks. 'She's right, man,' he said, taking Taylor's side over that of Olly Murs. Earlier this week, the British songwriter and television presenter slammed the songstress for writing about Harry too much. He has since apologised. 'She gets a tougher rap than other people,' Ed went on. 'No one talks about Bruno Mars or my lyrics like that.' The hitmaker also made a point of expressing his sentiments on the pairing of his friend Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol and actress Courteney Cox. He dismissed claims that he was responsible for them meeting, but applauded the match. 'I class Johnny as one of my best friends. I'm so happy he's met someone as amazing as Courteney,' Ed gushed. 7. Ed Sheeran is often ignored at dinner parties. The 23-year-old singer is a global phenomenon thanks to his albums + and x, which have won him several awards over the years. Another perk of fame is having celebrity pals, such as former Friends star Courteney Cox. It was the actress' laidback approach to stardom which Ed found appealing - especially as many of the people he encounters aren't as welcoming. "She's from Alabama, so it's bred into her, but everyone she surrounds herself with is the same. Jennifer Aniston's just as friendly. I'd only ever experienced the darker side of Hollywood and they give you faith in everything," he smiled to British newspaper The Daily Mail. "Everyone in LA introduces themselves with their first name, last name, what they do, who they work for, how many awards they've won, how much they earn - but only if they know who you are. "I've been ignored for a whole dinner party and then someone says, 'Oh, this is Ed, he does this,' and suddenly I'm being given all these cards. "Whereas the first time I went to Courteney's I brought my cousin Murray, who isn't a superstar - well, he is in my eyes, but he's not an actor or a musician. But everyone spoke to him and thought he was cool." It was Ed who introduced the star to her now-fiancé Johnny McDaid. He recalled a time Courteney visited a branch of British supermarket Tesco in her beau's home country of Northern Ireland and thought it was a "farmer's market". The redheaded star is also loved up with girlfriend Athina Andrelos, who is a culinary queen thanks to her job with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. Ed has big plans for the future when it comes to his personal life, but is keen to wait until work slows down to act upon them. "Of course I want kids. I actually thought my career would plateau quicker than this. I thought I'd have a career in England, and it's quite simple to maintain that and home life. You tour for a month, then you make an album," he explained. "I thought, 'I can have kids early, I can get married early.' But now we're touring in Asia and South America and selling out gigs in Poland and Manila. It's going to be an amazing moment when I actually have a year to spend with someone." 8. Rita Ora is bringing her home country to the US with her new album. The blonde singer is gearing up to release her second record, which is still currently untitled, following her 2012 debut Ora. She previously decided to pull her first album from being launched in the States and now feels confident that her latest music will take the country by storm. "So my new record's coming out this year; it's my first US debut. I'm not gonna lie, I'm also a bit nervous," she told teenvogue.com in a behind-the-scenes video of her cover shoot for the publication. "I've worked with some people that I never dreamed I'd work with, [DJ and electronic musician] Major Lazer is on there, Prince is on there; it's almost like I'm bringing London to America." Rita also spoke about her acting debut in the big-screen adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey. In it she plays Mia, the sister of main man Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan). The star has often spoken about her nerves while shooting the feature, but feels she has learnt a lot from the experience. "It's my first role so... fingers crossed!" she gawped, pulling a face. "It's exciting because it's a life that I never thought I'd understand. It's like going back to school: you've got to learn lines, you've got to get in the mood... The more you are you in music, the better, but the more you aren't you, I think, in acting, the better. So it was a wake-up call for me but it was extremely exciting and I can't wait for it to come out." In her interview with the magazine, Rita addressed her breakup with DJ Calvin Harris, which happened earlier this year on what seemed like a bitter note. Advising others going through a tough split, the songstress reassured them they "will love someone else again". 'Without complaining, without being moany, because this is what I have wanted to do all my life, I think it's that people may forget I'm just a 23-year-old girl who wants to be in love,' she sighed. 'And even though I live and breathe my job, I still want someone to want me. That's how every girl feels." 9. Iggy Azalea has denied being "fuming mad" at anyone. Yesterday TMZ claimed the Australian musician was angry at Snoop Dogg after he supposedly posted a meme on Instagram of a person with cornrows who appeared to be albino, with the caption reading: 'Iggy Azalea no make-up.' Now the 24-year-old blonde has taken to Twitter to clear things up. "lol, i wish writers exaggerated the positive sh*t going on in this world too. Im not "fuming mad" at anyone. (sic)," she wrote, seemingly in response to the article. According to TMZ, Iggy responded to Snoop's picture with a series of tweets, which were deleted. The image is also no longer available on the rapper's Instagram. Luckily, Iggy has her fans to keep her going. She's currently riding a wave of success, following collaborations with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande and Rita Ora. "i love my azaleas so much, i keep all your letters and drawings and i can't wait until you see my new home because i have an office..." she tweeted. "that I'm framing a lot of the sweet things you've said and hanging on the wall. love you so much. (sic)" She also promised fans she would set up an "Azalea mailbox" at shows, where fans could leave their letters and pictures for her. "okay I'm gonna do it guys, next years tour. ill get a human sized epic mail box right as you walk in the show. < 3" she wrote. "the box would have to just be for letters and not any objects or strangely shaped things. hahaha. (sic)" Add Rep and Leave a feedback Reputation is the green button in the down right corner on my post

  11. The Kiss member feels Sterling should have been let off with a fine, fears loss of privacy. Even when it seems everyone is opposed to something as awful as Donald Sterling’s racist rant, everyone isn’t always on the same page. In an interview for The Wall Street Journal, Kiss’ Gene Simmons expressed his support for the former Los Angeles Clippers owner. In doing press for the new AMC series 4th and Loud -- about the Kiss-branded Arena Football League team L.A. Kiss -- Simmons was asked if he had followed the Sterling incident. “I'm on the side of Don Sterling,†he replied, before his position was even asked. Although he admits that Sterling is “heinous,†he opines that he should have been let off with a fine, since the rant occurred in private. He goes on to insinuate that all people make racist rants or off-color jokes in private: “Because you say an off color joke or make a racist rant privately, that causes you to lose a job -- nobody would have a job!†To prove his point, he offers a slippery slope argument: “They’re going to go after Sterling and he’s going to put a few million dollars out there, because he can afford it – and he’s going to ask the paparazzi out there to find videos of all the other team members talking trash and racist rants.†And finally, Simmons links a loss of privacy to Sterling’s fate: “I’m on the side of free speech in the privacy of your own home or privacy of the situation. Big brother has finally crawled in bed with us.†Surprisingly, Simmons claimed earlier in the interview that he supported changing the name of NFL’s Washington Redskins. However, these views apparently did not cross over.
