Updates, Downtime, & Playtime Greetings fellow enthusiasts! We have another update... As you may notice the navigation bar is once again home for requests.php, collages.php, and top10.php. As such requests are no longer allowed in the forums and must be created by using the requests.php section. Improvements to torrents, metadata, and fetching info are still underway. The torrents.php should once again have full functionality. Thus you should now be able to search for all your torrents.php. For older torrents please use the "title search" field, and for newer torrents the field "tags" or "search terms" are much more efficient. Search Terms will search in the description, media info, and tags. Hence going forward, tags will be very important for all torrents. As our systems and parser improves, we will automagically be able to add more and more tags. The rest will be minor manual tagging by staff, FLS, and volunteers. There have previously been attacks on MTV in regards to brute forcing user accounts. We understand this was filling up user inboxes with a massive amount of PMs. As such we have made it easier to delete private messages. In the past you could only delete 25 at a time. We have now given three options; 25, 50, or 100 messages per page. Thus you can now delete up to 100 PMs at once! This setting is found in your user settings page under "Private Messages Per Page". Goodbye pesky reseed alerts Just kidding, those help everyone so it's nice to check them out and reseed when possible. Last but not least... As you may have noticed we recently had some downtime, which was due to an unforeseen circumstance with a part of our infrastructure. Replacement hardware had a minor delay and after trying our best to restore we ended up having to completely redeploy some of our front-end servers. Updates, Security Alerts, & Torrents Howdyho, A minor update folks. Things are progressing on the back end (a bit slower than we hoped for but life happens). But there have been many hidden and back-end changes in recent weeks. We're in the process of branching out to where we can to disperse the work flow properly in order to get some good development happening. If you have not yet enabled 2 factor authentication on your user/security page, please do so. You may notice a few or a lot of PMs titled "security alert received". This is due to bad actors making a damn good effort at brute forcing user accounts on not only MTV but other trackers as well. There was no data leak and our information is safe. They are just trying every possible combination to attain access to user accounts. We urge everyone to not only have a secure & unique password for MTV, but also to enable 2FA to ensure your account is safe. It is much easier for you to add and use 2 factor auth than it is for you to attempt an account recovery on a hacked account. Please keep this in mind. Our final topic for this announcement is in regards to torrents.php. We are aware of the issue and are working on it. Until this issue is resolved please use log.php to search for your torrents. You may need to use . (periods) instead of spaces for title searches as log.php was not built for heavy usage. We're back baby! Good News Everyone! We've had many ups and many downs but we're back to bring you the juicy news. OVH has taken a long while to deliver, but finally we have our development servers back online. This means we have completed quite a bit of progress on our upload page. To start we will have multiple roll-outs in the coming days for our internals and staff only. Once we work out the kinks and ensure the uploads are functioning as expected, the page will be released to all users. Prepare to release your uploads in a few weeks, provided there are no major bugs. However during that time as previously stated... internals will be releasing again!! During this phase, we will also be working on getting all of our auto upload bots working with our new systems. Expect to see the TV routine to get back to normal soon enough. I hope this has been a happy update for those of you reading. P.S. Ensure you set your IRC authentication in your user security tab, otherwise you will no longer be able to access the MTV irc main or announce channel (which is now open to the userbase! Hi Everybody! With some of the minor changes coming to the site. Staff has thought to get input from our loyal users. Since OVH has been dragging their feet getting up our new servers, we're focusing our efforts in some prep work. I assure you the support tickets are in and we have our best hamsters on the case. In the meanwhile, other teams of the staff have been developing features that users have been inquiring about. This post is to gauge, should we change any of the user class names?
